What?

A blog not exclusively devoted to maps (in many forms), GIS and a bit of archeology and whatever else strikes the author at the moment. The name is derived from a dream in which a cartographer was creating a projection by hammering the globe flat on an anvil in the way a blacksmith would flatten out metal.

Who?

Mercator’s Hammer is run by Michael Swaim who is currently a GIS analyst/Cartographer with AWhere, Inc.
